i don't know what it is, but there is something incredibly peaceful about grabbing your guitar and singing songs that are close to your heart...raising your voice to whomever cares to grasp them...and your only hope is that it kisses the face of god. no matter how fucked up life may be, i know that i can always turn to song to seek solace. it has been this way since i can remember. music is just such an important part of my life and i feel closer to god when i lift my voice up in praise. for some of you who know me, this may be a part of me that you are not used to seeing, but that's because it is a private concert for one. i do not care to show this part to anyone but the one who it is intended for. i know that no matter what i do or what was done to me, i can erase it for a brief moment when i grab my guitar, pluck a few strings, and sing out loud or in sylence. who needs church when you have this?!
your faithfulness - chasing furies
so long ago since i ran away
you're always near to me
i trip, i fall, and i scrape my knees
and you always pick me up, you always pick me up
so tired, so slow, forgive me
but the road you walk, it breaks my heart
i've walked this bridge and i call your name
and you always hear me cry
i rested long enough to pray
and i heard you answer me
i kick, i scream, frustrated
but your faithfulness, it stirs my being
